Making Palo Alto A Great Community

While talking with Dr. Kevin Skelly the superintendent of the Palo Alto Unified School District and Kathy Schroeder, the executive director of Palo Alto Partners In Education, I immediately saw two examples of why Palo Alto is a great community.

Support Palo Alto Partners in Education

As soon as education is brought up, the enthusiasm usually associated with a new discovery is almost over-whelming and the ideas and thoughts are those of experienced professionals. When asked by a news reporter about how the recent passage of Proposition 30 will affect Palo Alto schools one of the things Dr. Skelly said was, we will no longer have to be spending so much of our time on cutting back and preparing for an unknown budget. Ms. Schroeder added that funding will still be below previous levels.

During PiE's first year, eight years ago, just over $1 million was given to the Palo Alto Unified School District. In 2012 a gift of $4.4 million was made along with another $150,000 to support the PiE Teacher Grants program. Almost 4,700 donors have helped PiE.

PiE donations help provide classroom aides, counselors, elective classes and more.

Make your community and your nation great. Help your neighbors become even better. Support your schools.

The best way to help Palo Alto schools is to make a donation to Palo Alto Partners in Education:
